STOP! PLEASE JUST STOP, CALLING IT, THE FREAKING, FAST LANE!!!!
There is no such thing. That sign on the side of the road does not say speed limit 45 mph right lane, 50 mph left lane. It says 45 mph ALL LANES!!!
The left lane is called the passing lane!
It is called this as you are to use it to pass slower traffic then move back right, allowing other traffic to pass as well.
When you call it the 'fast' lane, ignorant people sit there and refuse to move over because they feel they are going fast enough. Such is the case with this ignorant woman.
